Susan Rubin
Susan Rubin has taught art and worked as a product, interior, and set designer for her own firms as well as the Discovery Channel and HGTV. She has illustrated numerous books, such as gardening books, field guides, college catalogues, seed packets, and even coloring books. She exhibits locally and nationally and her art is found in many private collections. Susan teaches Colored Pencil and Graphite Pencil.
“I like plants... all of them. I am drawn to the recurring patterns and wild anomalies that occur within the botanical world. I like to push past tradition in search of some greater content. Unorthodox media help me to fuse tradition and experimentation. That fine edge of separation between real and abstract is the line I most like to draw.”
